Hello and welcome to my humble blog! Call me Grave, I’m a 30-something nerd from England with far too much free time and an ever-present interest in tinkering with computers and the bits and pieces behind the scenes that make them tick. I’ve been quite the technology aficionado since I got my first computer — an Acorn Electron with a whopping 32Kb of memory and a mighty 1MHz CPU — as a kid in the 80s. It pretty much all went downhill from there, especially after the proliferation of the internet into the hands of the common people. When I’m not wasting time with some absurd, unwieldy and impractical project, chances are I’m wasting time on the internet or adding yet more complexity to the tinker-fest that is this site. I’m currently a self-employed sole trader on eBay, meaning I make a living from buying things from people, sorting them out, then selling them back to different people. I also sometimes tinker with programming (I’m self-taught in a number of languages, but C++ is a personal favourite) and website futzery.

Because it’s inevitable that someone will ask: yes, I’m one of those filthy furries that you’ve doubtless heard numerous terrible things about, and no, I promise I’m not as creepy as those few you’ve probably heard about in the media (most of us in the fandom keep them at arm’s length, too). In addition, I’m also a genderqueer weirdo, though I still haven’t figured out exactly where along the spectrum I lie. I’ll answer to most any name or most any pronouns, it’s all good!

So enough about me, and more about the blog: What’s it about? In a nutshell: anything and everything, really. I’ve tried making blogs for more specific purposes in the past — such as a brief foray into oldschool RPG reviews, and others — but nothing ever seems to suit me well enough to stick with long-term. Instead, I’ve put together this site to be a general melting-pot of all my combined ramblings and madness, ranging from my exceptionally ill-informed views on the world, to anecdotes about the crazy shit I used to get up to as a kid. Simply put: if I’ve got something to say and the 140 characters of Twitter is not sufficient, then chances are it’ll end up here. I’ve got a lot to say, and most of it shouldn’t be taken terribly seriously, but I hope it can at least be entertaining.

I always welcome feedback from my blog’s visitors, so please feel free to leave a comment on my posts and let me know what you think — even if you disagree utterly with my opinion, friendly debate and constructive criticism is always encouraged here (though please try to remain civil, abusive behaviour will not be tolerated). Please do bear in mind, however, that I’m largely not serious about most of the things I say here (unless I start spewing bile and vitriol about politics, in which case it’s all too serious), so take it all with a grain of salt and remember that it’s all in good fun.

That’s enough rambling for now. Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoy the rest of this blog!
