Because I couldn’t find a complete, accurate list of all the wargear and when it unlocks in Dawn of War II’s Last Stand mode, I’m creating my own in the hopes that it’ll prove useful to others someday. 🙂 If you find these lists useful or have any corrections to make, just drop me a comment at the bottom of the page. Feedback is always appreciated! I have personally verified everything up to level 14, other details are courtesy of friends and commenters. Thanks to Sed, Pickledragon, Shizzuko, Toyi, and Juno for helping to complete the list. 🙂

    Melee sorcerer.

    Weapon: Sword of Spite
    Armour: Armour of Might Undivided
Accessories: Accused Idol, Master Sorcery, Daemonic Gift of Sustenance
Commander Slot: Icon of Pain / Icon of Summoning.

This build will allow you to solo a lot of strong enemies. When your being overwhelmed by small enemies they die because of the Idol. The gift of sustenance is for health and energy and Master Sorcery is for the doomblast armour increase. That’s your ace in the hole. The armour boost is HUGE and doomblast only costs 10 energy. Whenever you’re fighting a large amount of opponents or just very strong opponents you just start spamming doomblast. The +2 energy per hit means you can keep this up for a long time. You can use Greater Sorcery instead of the Idol to increase the damage your doomblasts cause but I find it better to have the permanent Idol effect. Remember: You’re not using Doomblast for damage. You’re using it to massively increase your armour. You could also use the Rubric helm for even more protection but you might get overwhelmed.
You can choose between the icon of pain for quite a significant damage boost or use the icon of summoning for the increased health. Both work, it’s personal preference.

a wonderful one-two punch sorceror build, can take on carnifexes with some backup against bad luck

    Weapon: Oracle Stave
    Armour: Might Undivided
Items: Rubric Touched Helm, Daemonic Gift of Sustenance, Tome of Doom
    commander slot: Icon of summoning

you have marvelous health and if you hit say a full health group of ravenors or a choppa nob with the fate weaver buff you gain full health. when you gain the buff but want to save it use the tome of dome and kill the weaklings that way. i can one hit most clones bar the heaviest by saving the buff and then doombolting them.

  3. magesghost says:

my personal favorite build for strong minions

weapon: staff of tzeentch- for quick hit-and-run attacks
armor: robes of the deathless- for hard to kill dopples
items: sigil for greater sorcery,(for aoe flames)
daemonic gift of sustenance, ( keeps dopples energy and health up_
and daemonic gift of retaliation ( causes a damaging AOE effect when attacked)
commander slot: Icon of summoning- to clone champions

  4. sgtcat says:

This is my build for ultimate trololol for the collesium

    Weapon: Staff of Daemonic Flame

Armour: Robes of the deathless (this will make your doppelganger really hard to kill)

    items:anything

Commander item: Icon of Summoning (this lets you take control of that doppelganger for ultimate trololol)

  5. Silent_luck says:

this best build is as following:

    staff of tzeentch

    robes of the deathless

    Sigil of master sorcery
    Daemonic gift of sustenance
    Daemonic gift of Retaliation

    Icon of summoning

this build allows you to sit back relax, and let the minion do the work but you do have to be mindful of your armour (it’s only 4)

  6. current says:

As i leveled my sorc for the second time, i got through the 20th wave three times using these buidls:

    #1
    Staff of Tzeentch

    Armor of Eternal War

Tome of Doom (the key ability)
    Sigil of Greater Sorcery
    Daemonic Gift of Retaliation

    Icon of Summoning

Warp around and do your doombolt drive-by as long as you have energy/health.
My advice: google the sorcerer leveling guide from relic forums and read from there on how to properly use your doombolt (skip the DGoS part as it is outdated), or you will be just wasting your mana and life. Switching the armor to either Robes of Unholy Fortitude or Robes of the Deathless is arguable, but you can try it.

    #2
    Staff of Daemonic Flame

    Robes of Unholy Fortitude

    Sigil of Greater Sorcery
    Sigil of Master Sorcery
    Daemonic Gift of Retaliation

    Icon of Summoning

With this build I got somewhat lucky: my team had a captain with lightning claw, melee health regen and dreadnought. The combo of SoMG and DGoR made his clone unkillable. So, minion tanked, and I burned everything in my sight with a 3-fireball LTGB (as long as had the energy).

    #3
    Sword of Spite

    Armor of Might Undivided

    Sigil of Greater Sorcery
    Sigil of Master Sorcery
    Daemonic Gift of Sustenance

    Icon of Summoning

This is basically a tank build. The idea is to try to be in melee to get your energy back to spam more Doomblast to stay alive 🙂 Just don’t overestimate yourself: this build is far from unkillable (that means no rushing at the squad of plasmamarines backed by a melee dreadnought). It is possible to switch the commander item for Icon of Pain, but you will lose your hp pool, which seems not so good of a trade (haven’t tried yet, I’ll post here IF I find it to be a better variant).

P.S. The sorc is highly dependent on a team (at least, on TBC, don’t know about the Anvil, didn’t played there with him). So even with those builds you can easily be defeated if your team can’t stand and fight (though, it does not deny the fact you haven’t helped them properly). Not knowing who fails: the build or the team – is the reason why i hated my sorc when I leveled it up for the first time.

  7. Frazer says:

This is a beast as build:
Cataclysmic Hellblade: So that you can essentially cut your way through anything including a wraithlord or a deff dread provided you have enough energy to use it.
Robes Of The Deathless: So that your minions can outlast the enemy meaning that you don’t have to keep spawning them.
Accursed Idol: So that they end up killing themselves if they want to attack you.
Demonic Gift Of Sustenance: To help your minions continue to outlast the enemy.
Sigil Of Master Sorcery: To make you look badass. (No, I’m joking choose something you like here).
Icon Of Pain: So you and your allies can more easily cut through the enemy.

  8. Hygelian says:

Correction: I meant the Daemonic Gift of Retaliation rather than the Gift of Spite, obviously. I had the two of them mixed up. The point is giving your minion a reactive doomblast.

  9. Hygelian says:

Last I checked, in Retribution, daemonic gift of sustenance has been nerfed (as far back as March of 2011). Ranged attacks do not return either health or energy anymore. Meelee attacks do.

If you play Chaos Rising it still works, but it doesn’t work in Retribution anymore. This means that some of the builds which have been posted in the last months of 2012 and early 2013 (son of battle, Dycruxoid) don’t work as intended in Retribution. Neither LTGB (or doombolt for that matter) will return health or energy.

This does not mean that the builds themselves have become invalid, it’s just that you won’t be able to spam either LTGB or doombolt since you’ll be short on energy if you do. You need to use it tactically. It’s marginally better if you have someone on your team that can feed you energy (Tau with battery or Mekboy with ‘ave a taste), but only marginally.

The following is not my build (I found it somewhere on the steam forums a year ago iirc), but after having played around with the options for a bit this is one I found pretty effective and fun in Retribution. Personally, I don’t really like meelee sorcs – I played one for ages in Chaos Rising and am bored with them.

-Staff of Tzeentch (for teleport – kiting is essential with this build)

-Robes of the Deathless (basically a free revive for you and your minion)

-Gift of Spite (minion gets a reactive doomblast)
-Sigil of Greater Sorcery (minion reactive doomblast does more damage) or Sigil of Master Sorcery (minion reactive doomblast gains more armour). The flames as you teleport also do more damage either upon departure on upon arrival (but this is only good against squishy units).
    – Daemonic gift of sustenance (minion gains 100% of the damage it does as life and energy) or Icon of Tzeentch (+25 energy).

-Icon of Summoning (for cloning champion units).

This build is very squishy, but if you kite properly you will get 400-500 kills and won’t die earlier than wave 16 regardless of what your build your teammates have or what they are doing. Clone good units, and with DGOS (attacks gain life) and ROTD (free revive) your minion will take a ton of damage and still survive until the later waves.

Starting from wave 16 and onwards you will start to suffer because you usually won’t be able to kite fast enough to avoid all the damage. You’re also susceptible to surpression and knockback, so beware.

You might think Robes of Unholy Fortitude (+50 health for you and your minion, and +25 energy for both) would be the logical choice here, but it’s not. While your survivability is nominally increased by having a larger life pool and slightly better armor (tinfoil instead of paper, really), it doesn’t really make that much difference because you won’t be able to mitigate most of the damage you receive anyway.

Basically, with this build, if you’re killed while wearing Robes of the Deathless, it’s probably a safe bet you would also have died while wearing Armor of Unholy Fortitude.

Under similar circumstances, you might survive a couple of seconds longer with this armor rather than with the Deathless Robes, but when you’re dead, you’re dead – with the Deathless Robes you get a free revive. Your minion also tends to be around much longer with Robes of the Deathless than with those of Unholy Fortitude.

  10. Chrysalis says:

    Just some minor change

Tome of Hunger: Accessory. Grants Ability: Consume (Destroy a Daemonic Doppelganger in order to restore the Sorceror’s health. A Narcissistic Sorceror may instead consume his own mana to restore health.)

    LOL

  11. -SoL- Justice says:

I forgot to add this as the command item:

    Icon of Summoning

  12. -SoL- Justice says:

    @ArabiSahrami
The only way you can use that sword and be effictive is if you have no energy uses so the only build that does semi well i think is this

    Cataclysmic Hellblade

    Armor of Might Undivided

    Rubric Touched Helm
    Daemonic Gift of Sustenance
    Daemonic Gift of Retaliation/Accursed Idol

The reason I say its worthless to bring energy uses is that the sword takes 5 energy from you every time it attacks and there is no way to keep any energy with the sword. I have only had mild success with this build but you do heal alot from all the damage u do with the sword. My biggest problem with this setup is it has no range and no mobility but other then this I can’t find any setup that uses the sword and uses items that use energy.

  13. Dycruxoid says:

Did I seriously say elves… wow sorry I ment Eldar. I’ve been playing too much skyrim lately.

  14. Dycruxoid says:

A great build I’ve worked out which goes really well is:

    Staff of demonic flames
    Armour of might undivided
    Sigil of greater sorcery
    Sigil of master sorcery
    Daemonic Gift of Sustenance
    Icon of summoning

Deals large damage with LTGB giving health back with each attack and also energy. Firing into a large squad will ensure you recieve more than you take.

An awesome melee build (Requires DLCs though)
    Oracle stave (Fate weaver)
    Armour of might undivided
    Rubric touched helmet
    Daemonic Gift of Sustenance
Other Accesory is optional although I use doombolt (always good to have some form of range incase of vsing range enemies)Reactive strike is alright.
    Icon of summoning
This is very good narc melee but has a weakness of elves because of there range, other than that you get 150+ armour rating for 10 seconds upon hit which is nice.

  15. Dsarker says:

    Well, while I ain’t tried it yet…

How about this for some theorycrafting?

    Staff of Tzeentch

    Robes of the Deathless

    Sigil of Greater Sorcery
    Sigil of Master Sorcery
Accursed Idol/Rubric Touched Helm/Tome of Doom

Icon of Change/Icon of Greater Summoning

Intent being to keep teleporting in and out for the major damage dealing part. Pair up with a Tau with an Ion Battery, and it looks like you could do a fair bit of damage. With the Tome of Doom, you should be able to teleport in, take out an entire group, teleport out.

  16. son of battle says:

Staff of Daemonic Flame-Let the Galaxy Burn is by far the chaos sorcerers best ability

Armor of Might Undivided-Adds Narcissistic and helps build a semi-tank from sorcerer

Sigil of Greater Sorcery-Adds a Second Fireball to LTGB
Sigil of Master Sorcery-Adds a Third Fireball to LTGB
Daemonic Gift of Sustanence-Adds huge recharge to health and energy every time you activate LTGB(if you hit and kill something)[2 energy for every kill & health=damage given]

Icon of Summoning-Adds 125 health for Narcissistic finishing up the semi-tank power house

  17. pejjone says:

This is cool build if u want a different style to play than Warp staff hiding.

    Weapon: Sword of Fate

    Armour: Robes of Unholy Fortitude

    items: Tome of Hunger
    Daemonic Gift of Spite
Rubric Touched Helm(DLC) /if no (DLC) Accursed Idol or something u like

Commander item: Icon of Summoning/Icon of Pain

    -pejjone

  18. ArabiSahrami says:

Cool builds guys :P. but is there any involving the cataclysmic hellblade cuz i just got it last night and it looks fucking beast :DD but it really sucks to be a sorcerer with a sword cuz you really cant take a beating so i was wondering if someone could point me a good build for a melee sorcerer that would be nice thank you

  19. Lightofmask says:

A cool build too, but that is quite costly in energy, is this one:
    Staff of Tzeentch
    Robes of the Deathless
    Daemonic Gift of Spite
    Tome of Hunger
    Mark of Tzeentch
    Icon of Summoning

The combo used here is to teleport across the battlefield, to stick near a large amount of ennemies, copy one and then consume it instantly.
It gives all the life lost back, and it actually blows up every squads in the range of the “death throes” range.
It’s particulary usefull when paired with the Robes of the Deathless, cause you regain your energy every time you “die” for the first time.
The only difficulty with this build is energy management, in higher waves, it requires 2*7+15=29 energy to teleport, copy&consume and then teleport again.
It requires a good tank in the team/an energy giver (as the mekboy or the tau commander)

  20. Alien Gamer says:

This is a support sorcerer build that i am quite fond of.
    Requires Level 16

Staff of Tzeentch: for escape and you won’t be able to use Let the Galaxy Burn or Warp Fire because you will only have enough energy for orbs.

Robes of Unholy Fortitude: for being able to keep putting up your orbs.

Scroll of Blood: to keep you and your allies alive
Scroll of Vengeance: to deal damage while you and your allies take a pounding
Scroll of Unholy Power: to keep enemies at bay

Icon of Summoning: to get some bad ass minions
    OR
Icon of Pain: to give your allies some extra damage

This build can work well with tau that have burst cannons equipped since they can have their health regenerate crazy fast and keep tons of enemies flat on their butts. This can also work with Lord Generals with their multitude of minions to do what a tau can do.

  21. Eagle11 says:

    @MushrooMars

As far as i experienced it does enhance ability dmg too.
Hint: Scroll of Vengeance+Accursed Idol+Icon of Pain, all trash dies just shooting at you.

  22. MushrooMars says:

Does anyone know if the icon of pain effects attacks like warpfire and doombolt as well as passive attacks?

‘Cuz it’d be awesome if it did. Greater Sorcery + Master Sorcery + Wapfire + 30% more damage… I can just see the banshees melting.

  23. Working Class Hero says:

    @Melee sorc
    Awesome build

  24. johnnkaykay says:

    @aylin:
not sure but i read it was fixed, best use of Daemonic Gift of Sustenance is tank build or teleport/doomblaster build (in that case hit “f” to use your staff in melee mode).

    Tank build

    Oracle Stave
Vestments of Power Undivided (Armor of Might Undivided lvl 13)
Rubric Touched Helm/Accursed Idol/Tome of Hunger
    Icon of Summoning

    Level 5.

Use consume to heal, at level 19 you can use Daemonic Gift of Sustenance.

  25. Eagle11 says:

    Staff of Tzeentch
    Robes of the Deathless
    Sigil of Master sorcery
    Sigil of Greater sorcery
    Daemonic Gift of Retaliation
    Icon of Summoning

Scoring near 500 kills with this build(non-less than 350). As long as someone else is pulling the aggro you will burn all the small mobs easily and can kite away with the teleport too. As clone us either one of Tyranid warriors,FC,Wraithlord,Lictor. If you have a Tau or Tank clone him at wave16,if your highest rank in group clone yourself.
At final wave clone the patron and let him aggro,he will clear most of the trash for you.
Keep in mind that you will not be teleported at begin of final wave so position yourself accordingly off spawn’s auto-attack range at end of wave 19 for no insta-death.

  26. Aylin says:

Just unlocked Daemonic Gift of Sustenance today. It does not give energy or health back when using Let the Galaxy Burn or Doombolt (in DoW2: Retribution). 🙁

  27. cloudylemon says:

i remember pre nerf sorc… damn he was fun to play
(Daemonic Gift of Sustenence used to give energy from ranged attacks aswell as lifesteal)

  28. MarglFlargl says:

    @Not new
Only in retribution. It requires getting a Steam achieve rather than the DoW II+CR windows live achieves.

  29. Not new says:

Do the achivement items work in chaos rising or only retribution?

  30. Melee Sorc says:

    Sword of Spite

    Armor of Might Undivided
    Sigil of Master Sorcery
    Daemonic Gift of Sustenence
Daemonic Gift of Retaliation/DLC Rubric Touched Helm

    Icon of Pain

    D. Blast + SoMS gives you a huge boost to Armor, while DGoR gives you a chance of getting a D. Blast so long as you’re in melee. The DLC helm provides an Armor bonus as well, just 100% when in melee. DGoS will keep you topped off with IoP, and will keep your D. Blast up and running as well.

    + Sorc is “tanky”
    + decent damage
+ D. Blast knocks down units

    – very boring
    – poor mobility
    – tankiness relies on being in melee

  31. Dalakh says:

Sorry for the double post I meant Doombolt instead for Doomblast as you maybe understood.

  32. Dalakh says:

    @FunnehRabbitMan

Your combo is a useless version of this one :

    Staff of Tzeentch

    Armor of Might Undivided

    Tome of Doom
    Daemonic Gift of Sustenance
    Sigil of Greater Sorcery

    Icon of Summoning

Let me tell you first that the energy gaining gift DO WORK with doomblast (and let the the galaxy burn too). So just teleport on the ennemy (burning him with greater sorcery bonus) and doombast his face. Then remember this : the closer, the heavier damages are but the smaller the attack zone is.

So, do it again and again and again until everything is doomblasted.

For the commander item I took the Icon of Summoning for extra life but all are neither usefull nor useless.

You don’t need really extra damages (Icon of Pain) trust me but this is an option whereas Icon of Change is as useless as usual.

  33. FunnehRabbitMan says:

@Violence I play a bit of an unorthodox melee Sorcerer that you may want. I posted it awhile back but to save you some time digging I’ll post it here as well:

    Staff of Tzeentch

    Armor of Might Undivided

    Daemonic Gift of Sustenance
    Sigil of Greater Sorcery
    Sigil of Master Sorcery

    Icon of Summoning

First off, change to melee stance; this will let you recover your energy by attacking in melee (and if I remember right the Staff’s DPS isn’t that much different in melee). Teleport all around, stacking fire fields if you can, then go in and beat them with your staff; the fire will make up for lost DPS and the Gift will keep you from running out of energy and increase your standing power. However, you won’t have spectacular standing power and so should use your high mobility for escape as well as offense. You’ll have a hard time going toe-to-toe with big guys, but you’ll be able to do appreciable damage if you stack your fields right and you’ll decimate little guys. So, in short:

Pros: Great sustained DPS, high area of effect damage, fast health and energy regeneration, Fearless, Unshakable, high mobility.

Cons: Moderate-to-low standing power, low burst potential.

  34. Violence says:

@Baron ty for the advice ^^

  35. Baron von HoopleDoople says:

There isn’t really that great of melee Sorceror builds. Here’s a couple that are tolerable.

If you have the DLC wargear:

Oracle Stave, Armor of Might Undivided, Rubric Touched Helm, Daemonic Gift of Sustenance, Tome of Dome, Icon of Summoning.

This build gives you decent health and armor, immunity to suppression and knockback, decent health recovery (when special attack triggers it usually gives you a full heal), and a powerful close range spell you can spam away.

If you lack the DLC wargear:

Cataclysmic Hellblade, Armor of Might Undivided, Daemonic Gift of Sustenance, Daemonic Gift of Retaliation, Sigil of Greater Sorcery, Icon of Summoning.

This build gives you good damage and reactive doomblasts to clear out swarms. Defense isn’t that spectacular but at least you recover health with each attack.

  36. Violence says:

A decent build for a Sorcerer who wants to go in close combat?

  37. Hagosha says:

My preferred build for my Sorc is as follows:

    -Staff of Daemonic Flame

    -Robes of the Deathless

    -Daemonic Gift of Retaliation
    -Daemonic Gift of Sustenance
    -Sigil of Greater/Master Sorcery

    -Icon of Summoning

With this build, whatever minion you choose to crank out tends to pack a hell of a punch and tends to be exceedingly difficult/annoying to kill. I prefer either FC or Warriors for the beginning waves. If they survive that long, clone one of the clones (yourself if you want a cloning pet :P)or whatever uber-strong unit comes along (Carnifex in particular) On top of that, you’ve got Let the Galaxy Burn for everything that doesn’t have knockback immunity. I don’t think that i’ve ever wiped sooner than wave 16 with this build tbh.

  38. krz says:

this class is cool in that with level one you can actually reach the doppleganger stage even if your allies also suck (this is because you just constantly keep making doplegangers of high powered enemies, especially the big tryranid creatures)

-Note, never try making dopplegangers of banshees… sure, the idea sounds pretty cool seeing as banshees ussually kill you when you are the other classes, but don’t do it, waste of energy points

  39. Tsenzei says:

Icon of Change is pretty random, but it can be effective if you find yourself consistently in the thick of enemies, and personally, I don’t like Icon of Summoning all that much unless using a Narc build.

  40. Guts says:

Keep in mind that Daemonic Gift of Sustenance does not give you back energy unless you are in melee with a target. Doesn’t make any sense to me why it’s like this since the lifetap part works on both ranged and melee.

  41. Aylin says:

My sorc is still a low level, but I have seen several higher level sorcs use the Icon of Change. Is it really good enough to lose the Icon of Summoning for? I’ve seen it kill some things, but it seems a little too random to be something reliable.

  42. FunnehRabbitMan says:

    Er, Combat EXPERT, rather.

  43. FunnehRabbitMan says:

@S-Zilla As far as I’ve been able to understand, it functions identically to the Combat Master trait with the added benefit of it being an aura.

  44. Rudi0001 says:

Just finished level 20 on last stand with a team of 2 lvl 20 sorcerors and 1 lvl 12 tyrant. The sorcerors had the following combo:

My combo, a nice one, you are Narcissistic, each time you hit someone you get life back and 2 energy. This means you can shoot the whole game the “Let the galaxy {three bolts) burn” as fast as it can recharge. You have 225 live, so you can take some damage (and get recharged with normal attacks). Just stand in the middle and from level 10 onwards in a corner and let them come to you.
    Staff of Daemonic flame
    Armour of might undivided
    Sigil of Greater Sorcery
    Sigil of Master Sorcery
    Daemonic Gift of Sustenance
    Icon of summoning

The other sorceror had the following combo. He could teleport out of (or into)danger and use the doombolt to finish off enemies the flames did not kill.
    Staff of Tzeentch
    Robes of Unholy Fortitude
    Sigil of Greater Sorcery
    Tome of Doom
?? I believe Daemonic Gift of Sustenance
    Icon of Summoning

  45. S-Zilla says:

Does anyone know if Icon of Pain works on just ranged attacks, or all damage. Was thinking about a narc build that had that in there with warp, but if it doesn’t work on warp no point in picking it up.

And not just warp, but doombolt and curse of tzeentch as well.

  46. Jamin P. Rose says:

This is my current combo that got me to wave 20 with two hive tyrants one with the dicintagraty cannon and the other with melee claws.

    Staff of demonic flame
    Armor of might undevided
    Both sigles
    Gift of sustanance
    Icon of summoning

  47. MarkNeoformann says:

I used this build. With smooth gameplay and enough luck, cover, common sense, and skills(mostly), I can survive up to wave 19-20(did not completed) alone. Wave 16 is a pain, but this build can kill the clones.

    Weapon: Staff of Tzeentch
    Armor: Robes of Unholy Fortitude
Accessories: Mark of Tzeentch, Daemonic Gift of Spite, Tome of Hunger

    Icon of Summoning

Just copy a enemy (a squad is preferred), wrap to safe location, and attack. Repeat. Heal if needed and/or trigger an explosion.

  48. S-Zilla says:

Doh, forgot to add I was using Icon of Summoning but tbh I don’t think I’ve seen any CS’ use anything else.

  49. S-Zilla says:

    Weapon: Staff of Tzeentch
    Armor: Robes of Unholy Fortitude
Accessories: Daemonic Gift of Spite, Daemonic Gift of Retaliation, Sigil of Greater Sorcery

I’ve been having a lot of fun using this build, makes cloning fodder more useful. The death throes explosion from gift of spite doesn’t do too much damage, but does do a lot of interruption since the explosion pulls everything in and throws them around everytime a unit in your squad dies.

You can also set the explosion off when you want by cloning a new squad. That with doomblasts on attack make the not-so-great summons a lot better.

The major con with this is your damage is pretty much all your clone, you can teleport and do some damage with warpfire but it isn’t really that amazing.

  50. DekklinOfDeath says:

Napalm’s builds (above) are 2 of the ones I use, however I needed to add one more:
    Pros:
-Extremely mobile, nuke, hero minions, all equipment accessed by level 12

    Cons:
-Fragile, nuke needs to be extremely close range

    Staff of Tzeentch (Teleport)
Robes of Unholy Fortitude (+HP & Mana, more survivability than Eternal War)
Sigil of Greater Sorcery (Teleport into small crouds and they burn)
Tome of Doom (Close range doombolts are extremely powerful)
Daemonic Gift of Retaliation (Hits on your minions will set off a huge aoe, improved by the Sigil)
    Icon of Summoning

  51. FunnehRabbitMan says:

Got another one I’ve been using:

    Staff of Tzeentch

    Armor of Might Undivided

    Sigil of Greater Sorcery
    Sigil of Master Sorcery
    Daemonic Gift of Sustenance

    Icon of Summoning

Right off the bat, switch from ranged stance to melee stance. (Don’t know why, but I couldn’t get Daemonic Gift of Sustenance to trigger from my standard ranged attacks; if you’re not having this problem, disregard). Now, teleport around, using your fire to wipe out hordes of enemies and Daemonic Gift of Sustenance to keep you from running out of energy. The combination of high mobility, nigh-limitless energy, and area-effect fire works really well and you can make short work of small enemies. You’re also Fearless, Unshakeable, and sporting 225 health, making you a little tankier than your average Sorcerer.

However, this build isn’t without its down sides. Low armor means you can’t stand toe-to-toe with anything. While you can take out chaff in approximately no time (flat), bigger enemies take more time, and you’re next to useless versus walkers and bigger. Without the support of some strong single-target or survivability heroes, most enemies will make short work of you.

A few words on the flames as well. When you teleport, you leave warp fire at both your starting and ending points in a wide radius. These flames serve as your main form of damage. They burn for a very long time, and cling to enemies walking through them (meaning if you can just nick that passing Nob he’ll catch fire for a small amount of time). Additionally, the damage from overlapping fields of fire appears to stack, so if you can get a large target to stand still long enough for you to teleport around him nonstop, you will eventually do some appreciable damage. However, don’t count on it.

While this build is rather simple, it is also both versatile and effective (and your doppelganger has no clue how to use it). The last game I used this build I had racked up 401 kills by the time we wiped on Wave 19 on Colosseum. As of yet I haven’t tested it on Anvil of Khorne.

  52. the above spec i posted is purely for high damage. if ur looking for a survival/high points/wave game then the below is great. I can effectively tank 3 avatars(massive white dudes of wave 11/12 in TBC arena)

    Pros:
    – Able to tank like a F***ing BAWS!!! (imo, better than a captain)
    – Doomblast is granted additional radius and damage, it also grants you additional armor.
    – Narcissistic from armour, in effect granting:
+2 Energy when you use an attack
+Heal for 100% of damage done (most of the healing will come from melee attack, which is very high)
    – An additional 30% damage for everyone in the party. -giving you even more heals 🙂

    Cons:
    – No minions
    – Melee attacks only
    – No group heals

    Here is the Item List:

    Weapon-
    Sword of Spite

    Armour-
    Vestments of Power Undivided

    Accessories-
    Sigil of Master Sorcery
    Sigil of Greater Sorcery
    Daemonic Gift of Sustenance

    Commander Item-
    Icon of Pain

    Traits-
Master Sorcery (See Sigil of Master Sorcery)
Greater Sorecery (See Sigil of Greater Sorcery)
Fearlessness (See Armor of Might Undivided)
Unshakable (See Armor of Might Undivided)
Narcissistic (See Armor of Might Undivided)
Aura of Power (See Icon of Pain)

    Possible substitutions:
Sword of Fate + doombolt(swap out greater sorc so you’re curse still heals u)

  53. This is the build i use. I have pretty much tried every combination possible and this one sticks out for me by far.

    Pros:
    – Weapon is ranged
    – Let the Galaxy Burn is granted 2 additional orbs, making it a total of 3 instead of 1.
    – Narcissistic from armour, in effect granting:
+2 Energy when you use an attack
+Heal for 100% of damage done
    – An additional 30% damage from melee and ranged abilities for everyone in the party.

    Cons:
    – No minions
    – No direct heal for you or the party (heal from damage done)

    Here is the Item List:

    Weapon-
    Staff of Daemonic Flame

    Armour-
    Vestments of Power Undivided

    Accessories-
    Sigil of Master Sorcery
    Sigil of Greater Sorcery
    Daemonic Gift of Sustenance

    Commander Item-
    Icon of Pain

    Traits-
Master Sorcery (See Sigil of Master Sorcery)
Greater Sorecery (See Sigil of Greater Sorcery)
Fearlessness (See Armor of Might Undivided)
Unshakable (See Armor of Might Undivided)
Narcissistic (See Armor of Might Undivided)
Aura of Power (See Icon of Pain)

  54. Tsenzei says:

I have a lot of fun with:

    Sword of Fate

    Armor of Might Undivided

    Daemonic Gift of Sustenance
    Sigil of Greater Sorcery
and either: Rubric Touched Helm or Accursed Idol

    Icon of Summoning

Curse does a lot of good damage both to groups and heavy targets, and Greater Sorcery and Gift of Sustenance means you can spam it fairly consistently, while Rubric if you have it can help ensure you don’t die immediately, or Accursed can help give you a little more damage if you don’t have the paid DLC, and is less random than Gift of Retaliation (and works against ranged attacks).

  55. Hel O Keety says:

I got all the way to wave 20 (but did not complete) with an LG and a Mekboy using this build:

    Staff of Daemonic Flame

    Vestments of Power Undivided

    Sigil of Master Sorcery
    Sigil of Greater Sorcery
    Rubric Touched Helm

    Icon of Summoning

Make sure to build up power before wave 16.

  56. Jamin P. Rose says:

Here is my personal favorite build

    Staff of tzeentch

    Robes of unholly fortitude

    Sigil of great sorcery
    Mark of tzeentch
    Tome of doom

    Icon of summonng

  57. Alcatrazz says:

    Summoning build

    Staff of Tzeentch

    Robes of Unholy Fortitude

Sigil of Master Sorcery/Sigil of Greater Sorcery
    Daemonic Gift of Sustenance
    Daemonic Gift of Ritaliation

    Icon of Summoning

Easy to use. make a summon let them do the work and tele to/from youre enemys to burn them and survive/fight.

  58. Greg says:

Here’s an Oracle Stave build I like.

    Oracle Stave
    Armor of Might Undivided
    Daemonic Gift of Sustenance
    Rubric Touched Helm
    Tome of Doom
    Icon of Summoning

You can swap the Icon for Pain if you want more damage, but I find the extra health is helpfull for those times when you’re making your way through fire to get into melee or you’re waiting for Fate Weaver to trigger. And imho, Fate Weaver does enough damage without the boost from IoP.

  59. Jamin P. Rose says:

The catacclysmic hell blade is strong but leaves you poen to ranged weapons and fast moving infintry, you’d do better with a staff than with it unless you can find a combo that deals with the weaknesses or two characters that are ranged and need melee protection.

  60. Pyro says:

Some info about the unlockable weapons:

    “Cataclysmic Hellblade”
Grants trait: Hell Attacks (Attacks with the Hell Blade use 5 energy)
Grants trait: Bonus Damage (Attacks with the Hell Blade cause extra damage)

    “Accursed Idol”
Grants trait: Accursed Idol (Damage received by the Sorcerer causes the attacker to take damage)

Would send you the proper pictures of the icons but I don’t know your e-mail 😛

  61. Petroklos says:

    Melee Chaos Sorcerer FTW:

    Cataclysmic Hellblade

    Armor of Might Undivided

    Rubric Touched Helm
    Daemonic Gift of Sustenance
    Accursed Idol/Daemonic Gift of Retaliation

    Mark of Tzeentch/Icon of Pain

(If possible delete the comment above. Wrong e-mail adress.)

  62. Petroklos says:

  63. Nazgren says:

After reading pyrisaths comment i had an idea for something that could be funny to try out,
    1. get 3 sorcerers (must be able to summon dopelgangers)
    2. get to wave 16
    3.each sorcerer clone someone,
    4. count the seconds until the map is full of clones
    5. profit

also found a good layout for narcistic sorcerers,
Weapon: Staff of daemonic flame (LTGB)
    Amour: Vestments of power undivided
    Accessory 1:Mark of Tzeentch
    Accessory 2:Sigil of Greater Sorcery
    Accessory 3:Sigil of Master Sorcery
Commader item: Icon of Summoning, if you are able to keep yourself alive without the health boost then take Icon of Pain to help out the rest of the team

as you can probably tell, this set up is all about boosting LTGB to the absolute max, you will be throwing three fireballs almost as fast as the cooldown will let you, and anyone that uses LTGB will understand how powerful this set up is, after 3 test games, one in the first map, 2 in the second, by the end of the games i conistantly had twice the amount of kills of the rest of the team and by round 4 i usually had anwhere between 150-200 kills depending on where enemies spawned. fortunately, the AI will not work out that he should be spamming ltgb making for an easy kill on wave 16. the only problem with this set up is it is very poor against enemies with nockback, heavy vehicles such as dreadnoughts, you will need the other 2 people in your team to deal with these, but can put the hurt on infantry units better then an orc jumping around using a juiced up tellyporta. if the impact does not kill them the the aoe left behind will. as long as you are not spamming ltgb at every moment possible your mana should hold out long enough for you to use it on a regular basis,if when you get to the later rounds you are struggling for mana you could drop a sigl of sorcery (it doesnt matter which) for Daemonic Gift of Sustenance which could also help with keeping yourself alive. if you have any ideas for improvements then feel free to say.

  64. Gravecat says:

Updated again with the wargear from the paid DLC.

  65. Gravecat says:

Updated with the new achievement-unlockable gear.

  66. Fannus says:

    Works with retribution too =D

    and its wave 16 😉

I recognized it when i saw a second space marine from my team… “but i copied the sorc (myself)… but he’s wearing my colors….. COOL”
You know what to do ;D

  67. Pyrisath says:

Something I discovered in a Last Stand match today. This was in Chaos Rising, not Retribution, in case that matters at all. Really cheesy.

    Lvl 17 Sorceror
Staff of Let The Galaxy Burn
    Robes of the Deathless
    Reactive Strike accesory
    Energy accesory
    Extra fireball sigil
    Elite dopplegangers

Well, I can’t type out the story without exaggerating it to high heaven, so I’ll give the basics of it.

    Step 1: Reach wave 15
    Step 2: Clone your doppleganger
Step 3: Hope your new friend clones a Tyrant or a Captain(Maybe yourself again, but I haven’t been able to experiment)
Step 4: Watch all your bonuses apply to two extra team mates
    Step 5: Profit!

  68. Barry says:

A big problem with the setups that use Daemonic Gift of Sustainance. It now doesn’t work with Doombolt and LTGB anymore, it HAS to be a normal attack which limits its effectiveness so maybe swap it out for Mark of Tzeentch or something.
If i am mistaken please let me know it is my fault and not my sorc… 🙁

  69. Daykin says:

    The sorc is my facorite:

Use the staff of daemonic flame with both upgrades for it its a beast 😀
    Plus energy mark
    Rboes of unholy fortitude
    icon of summoning

I managed to beat wave 20 on the original last stand map using this build 😀 basically find a corner and use let the galaxy burn on swarms whilst using a gd minion such as:
    the force commander
    wraithlord
uge’ nob (when theres nothing better)
    dreadnought
    deff dread carnifex
chaos lord and a hive tyrant from wave 16 (if there is one)

  70. Yellow Ork says:

    ******************************
    ***This is a glitch warning***
    ******************************
If you use this some people will drop on you, others may just hate you and drop you as friends!!!!!

But lot’s of people are now doing it so if your happy to cheat here it is.
it’s for Tome of Doom i.e. doombolts.
when you fire doombolts press and hold your right mouse button.
keep holding it until the recharge icon is between 5-6 o’clock then release it.
you will be able to fire your doombolts again and the cost of firing them returned to you (as if you fired and hit someone with doombolts + Daemonic Gift of Sustenance) this way you can just keep firing doombolts without any enery cost. it takes a little practice but you will soon get the idea.
Warning lag make this very hard as it’s all about timing….so avoid anyone with less than 100 ping.
    3x chao
    Tome of Doom
    Robes of the Deathless
each with 3x elite tokens =
    28 million score
That is how it is done!

  71. m.westies says:

thanks alot i have been searching everywere for a list of the wargear for last stand

  72. Gravecat says:

Toyi, you rock. 🙂 I’ll get the list updated later, when I’m back home.

  73. Toyi says:

    Hi!

Just wanted to give some extra info for the higher level items…

    Armor of Might Undivided
Grants Traits “Fearless” (immune to suppression), “Unshakeable” (immune to knokback) and “Narcissistic” (All minion traits and bonuses apply to the Sorcerer instead)

    Daemonic Gift of Spite
Grants Minion Trait “Death Throes” (A Warp vortex erupts upon the minion’s death, knocking back and damaging nearby enemies); a Narcissistic Sorcerer causes such an explosion whenever he is incapacitated.

    Staff of Daemonic Flame
Grants Ability “Let the Galaxy Burn!” (Loose an orb of empyreal flame a target. Orbs detonate on impact leaving smoldering residue that can continue to damage enemies)

    Robes of the Deathless
Grants Ability: “Daemonic Doppelganger” (Summons a Daemonic minion who takes the form of a targeted enemy). Grants Trait and Minion Trait “Deathless” (When suffering a fatal blow, the Sorcerer/Doppelganger instead regains full Health and Energy and deals double damage for a short period. This effect cannot recur for 30 seconds)

    Sigil of Master Sorcery
Grants Trait “Master Sorcery” (Warpfire range doubled. Doomblast briefly increases unit’s armor. Curse of Tzeentch heals the Sorcerer. Let the Galaxy Burn fires an additional fireball. Warp burns the ground upon departure)

    Daemonic Gift of Sustenance
Grants Minion Traits “Combat Vigor” (Whenever the Doppelganger makes a standard attack, it regains 2 Energy) and “Zealous” (Whenever the Doppelganger makes a standard attack, it regains Health equal to 100% of the damage caused). For Narcissistic Sorcerers the recharge effects applies to the Sorcerer’s own attacks.

Icon of Pain (level 20 indeed)
Grants Trait “Aura of Power” (Sorcerer and nerby allies gain a bonus of 30% to melee and ranged damage).

  74. Gravecat says:

Thankya, list updated. 🙂 And since every other hero gets a commander item at 20, I think it’s a fair assumption that Icon of Pain is the level 20 item. That’s another list complete! ^^

  75. Shizzuko says:

Daemonic Gift of Spite unlocks at 14

  76. Gravecat says:

It does indeed help, thanks! 🙂

  77. Pickledragon says:

robes of the deathless is lvl 17 and sigil of master sorcery is lvl 18 i hope this helps (i just got them)

  78. Sed says:

Staff of Daemonic Flame lvl 15

Scroll of Unholy Might lvl 16

  79. Gravecat says:

You can’t, I’m afraid. 😉 I made this one custom for this website.
